about Lee Berresford

Lee Berresford is a Graphic Designer and Art Director based in New York City. Lee began her design career in magazines, first as an intern at Vanity Fair in 1999 and eventually as Art Director of O, The Oprah Magazine, in 2005. In the interim she worked as a designer at Rolling Stone, focusing both on the magazine and on Fred Woodward's independent book projects, and then as Managing Art Director at Entertainment Weekly.

In 2007 Lee joined the Art Department at ESI Design, an interactive design firm helmed by Edwin Schlossberg. During her four years at ESI Lee led the graphic and environmental design of the permanent installations at Ellis Island: the Peopling of America Center and the New Eras of Immigration Center. She also designed an intricate logo and identity system for Naples Botanical garden in Naples, FL, and drove the visual direction of Mercy Corp's Action Center to End World Hunger in Battery Park, NY and Portland, OR.

During 2011 - 2018 Lee collaborated with Edwin Schlossberg to design exhibition catalogues for the artists Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns, and James Rosenquist. She continued to work at magazines, freelancing at Marie Claire, InStyle, Martha Stewart Living, Parents, DuJour and Entrepreneur. From 2019 to 2020 Lee worked an Art Director in the Classroom Magazines division at Scholastic Inc., designing both print and digital educational material for children in Grades K-12.
